• Assist client with selection of Third Party Administrator (TPA) selection
• Coordinate initial service meetings with carrier or TPA to establish service commitments
• Evaluate open claims prior to unit stat reporting date (experience modification)
• Assure prompt and efficient insurance carrier involvement
• Monitor claims for appropriate subrogation and indemnification potential
• Consult and advise on coverage questions prior to claim notification and issues likely to arise post claim notification
• Assist in claim settlement negotiation
• Establish claim reporting procedures with insurance carriers
• Monitor performance of insurance carrier claim representatives
• Create efficient, effective, and proactive strategies to reduce claim costs and mitigate exposures
• Ensure notification to all appropriate carriers and all appropriate types of insurance
• Evaluate exposure presented to determine appropriate polices (primary, professional, umbrella, and excess) to be notified and to proceed to notify as appropriate
• Coordinate retention of defense counsel acceptable to carrier
• Participate as required in conference calls or meetings between insurers, clients and counsel to address any problems or issues as they arise
• Work to resolve issues that arise regarding coverage and / or financial exposure
• Coordinate activities with insurance carrier for any issues that arise in the adjustment of a claim or management of a claim
• Work with you to develop a comprehensive strategy to approach insurers to resolve the dispute
• Solicit the involvement of underwriters placing the coverage to present arguments for coverage under the policy wording
• Involve the insurer’s management team as indicated or required to aid in negotiating a resolution
• Provide access to qualified coverage counsel to explore case law and likely outcome of policyholder litigation against the insurer
